Call Me Margie

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional and Technical communication in May 2013. I am currently working as the Operations Support Supervisor in supplemental insurance. This means that I my team and I provide support for all of Operations by handling documentation, communication, training materials, appeals, complaints, and generally all sorts of trouble shooting. I work closely with legal, claims, customer service and many other department heads to ensure internal and external customer needs are met.

I am skilled at both design and writing, and am often the go-to amongst my peers for editing documents for overall consistency and tone. People often appreciate my deliberate tailoring of the voice of a document to match the audience.

Some highlights:

• Overhauled the training materials used for two week training course incoming employees; this included attending existing training and interviewing recent attendees to identify weakness

• Created a brochure that is used for recruitment at a local charter school and increase attendance by 17%

• Won Art History Student of the Year as a Freshman in College

• Collaborated to create the website that was chosen by Premier Group to establish their web presence

 

In my free time, I relax with my family, read voraciously, knit, play video games, or give my kitties scritches.
